PM holds NDA meeting to discuss strategy for Monsoon Session of Parliament

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with NDA constituents at his residence in New Delhi this evening. It discussed the strategy for the Monsoon Session of Parliament as opposition parties, Congress and the Left have closed their ranks against government on various issues including Vyapam scam, and Lalit Modi controversy.<br/><br/>The meeting was attended by LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan, Shiv Sena leader Anandrao Adsul, Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa of Akali Dal and RPI leader Ramdas Athawale among others. BJP Chief Amit Shah and Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitely and Venkaiah Naidu were also present. <br/><br/>Earlier, BJP Parliamentary Party Executive meeting was held to fine tune party's strategy for the session beginning tomorrow. Senior party leader L K Advani was present in the meeting besides party MPs and Union Ministers.<br/><br/>While the BJP-led NDA commands a sizeable majority in the Lok Sabha, it lacks numbers in the Rajya Sabha where opposition holds the key to passage of important legislations, including Goods and Services Tax and Land bill.
