The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on Wednesday evening held an informal meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Panning Commission and other members to review the state of economy of the country. Dr Singh is understood to have discussed the gross budgetary support for the next fiscal in view of the start of the budgetary exercise as well measures to check rising food prices. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent says the the closed door meeting which lasted for about two hours came a day after the Delivery monitoring cell in the PMO reviewed the progress of 18 flagship and other programmes as well as the Prime Minister's Reconstruction Plan for Jammu and Kashmir and Infrastructure Development in North-Eastern Region.
