Addressing election rallies in Bashirhat and Howrah today, senior BJP leader and PM, Narendra Modi tore apart the ruling TMC for the party's reported indulgence in massive terror tactics, violence and rigging during the ongoing polls.

He said that Didi's party has stooped to this level, engineering open loot of votes, because she has conceded to the defeat of her party. He asked what type of voting is being held in West Bengal when every round of voting is witnessing violence and intimidation of voters.

Taking a barb on TMC leaders' alleged indulgence in bribery from Saradha to Narada, he pointed out that contrary to the policies of Didi's regime, the BJP government, besides other welfare oriented schemes, opened bank accounts for 40 percent of Indians who were devoid of banking facilities so that poor don't fall prey to money swindling chit-funds.

The elections to the 294 seat West Bengal Assembly are being conducted in six voting phases, spread across seven polling days till 5th May. Polling under the 1st phase was held on two days, on 4th and 11th April. The second phase polling was conducted on last Sunday. The counting of all the constituencies will be done on 19th May.

Meanwhile, on direction of the Election Commission, an FIR was today lodged against TMC candidate Abdur Rezzak Molla who was a senior minister in the erstwhile Left Front government. The Commission had earlier issued show-cause notices to Molla for his objectionable and intimidating remarks. He was served with a fresh notice yesterday for making an on camera derogatory remark against BJP Mahila Morcha chief and actor, Rupa Ganguly.

Meanwhile, TMC chairperson and Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee has replied to the Commission's notice issued to her. She has clarified that by talking of the separate district of Asansol in one of her election speeches, she did not violet the electoral code. Ms. Banerjee added that the decision to form the separate district was taken by her Cabinet long before the polls were announced.
