PM held talks with visiting Bhutanese PM

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today held talks with his visiting Bhutanese counterpart Tshering Tobgay in New Delhi this afternoon.

The two leaders discussed the entire gamut of bilateral relations between India and Bhutan. External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid also participated in the talks.

Earlier, Dr. Singh extended a warm welcome at his residence to Bhutan Prime Minister who is on a six-day visit to India, accompanied by his spouse Aum Tashi Doma and a high level delegation.

The delegation includes Foreign Minister Lyonpo Rinzin Dorje and senior officials from the Royal Government of Bhutan.

AIR correspondent reports, it is the first overseas visit by Tshering Tobgay after being elected Prime Minister in the second democratic elections in July this year.

Later in the day, Mr.Thering Tobgay will also hold talks with Vice-President Hamid Ansari. During his visit, the Bhutan Prime Minister is also scheduled to hold talks with the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Smt. Sushma Swaraj.

He will meet captains of Indian industry at a joint meeting with Indus chambers, ASSOCHAM, FICCI and CII and also travel to Hyderabad to visit the CII Green Business Centre and the IT Park at Madhapur.
