The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh left Geneva for Washington on a four day State visit to the United States where a red carpet welcome awaits him as he lands at the Andrews Air Force Base. He will address the US Chamber of Commerce as well as the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Monday. On Tuesday, the Prime Minister will hold discussions with President Barack Obama and other top officials of the US. The same evening, Mr. Obama will host State Dinner for Dr. Singh.<br/><br/>India and the US are expected to sign a counter terrorism initiative to strengthen cooperation against global terror during the four day visit of the Prime Minister. The two countries are also expected to sign MoUs on cooperation in renewable energy, intellectual property right, agriculture among other areas. According to sources, Singh-Obama knowledge initiative is also likely to be launched during the visit .<br/>India and the United States are also to enhance cooperation in the field of defence.
