Congress today said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked Kerala Chief Minister Oomen Chandy to keep out of a function to unveil former Chief Minister R Sankar's statue. In a statement, party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said it amounts to insult to an elected Chief Minister of opposition ruled state. He said it is not only a transgression of protocol, but also that of cooperative federalism. Mr Surjewala said it was incidentally Mr Chandy who had invited Prime Minister Modi to unveil the statue.
