Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh today filed his nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha election at Dispur in Guwahati. Assam governmnet’s Spokesperson Bhupen Bora said that after submitting nominations papers,Dr.Singh has also participated in the Congress Legislature party meeting. The current term of Prime Minister Dr Singh will expire on 14th of the next month.
20th of this month is the last date to file nominations. Scrutiny of nominations will be held on next day. Polling, if necessary will be held on 30th of this month and counting of votes take place on the same day. Earlier, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and other dignitaries recieved the Prime Minister at Borjhar airport.
