Prime Minister Narendra Modi today came out strongly against Pakistan for continuing its proxy war of terrorism against India saying it had lost the strength to fight a conventional war.
Addressing troops of the army and the Air Force in Leh in Jammu and Kashmir, he said, the neighbouring country has lost the strength to fight a conventional war, but continues to engage in the proxy war of terrorism. The PM said Indian armed forces were suffering more casualties from terrorism than from war.
Modi said India was committed to strong armed forces, well-equipped with modern weapons and technology. He said soldiers should be assured that the entire country supports them.
The PM said soldiers remained undeterred despite the many negatives and struggles that their families faced in day-to-day life and this energy and sense of duty inspired him. He said he keeps visiting jawans on the border to seek inspiration.
Prime Minister visited Kargil site of the war fought to evict Pakistani intruders 15 years ago. He said the people of Kargil are very patriotic and it is inspiring for the entire country, He said this after inaugurating the 44 MW Chutak power station at Kargil.
Later addressing a public meeting in Kargil, Mr. Modi said that corruption has to be uprooted completely if we have to move forward on the path of development. He said corruption is the worst plague that has ruined the country.
Once it is rooted out, the country will sail on the path of development smoothly. Stressing on the need to focus completely on development, Modi said, that he will neither indulge in corruption himself nor will he allow others to indulge in corruption.
Talking about the long pending demand of the people of Kargil the Prime Minister told that the pending case of road connectivity to the whole Ladakh region and Kargil in Particular has been approved with the sanction of additional 8,000 crore rupees and the work will start soon. The connectivity will further strengthen when Ladakh is connected with via Rhotang.
