Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has said India’s economy has the potential to bounce back on the growth trajectory in two to three years.

Replying to the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address to the Joint Sitting of Parliament, Dr. Singh said though expenditure has increased, the Government has spent the money on social welfare schemes such as education and health.

The House later adopted the Motion by voice vote after opposition members withdrew their amendments.
