The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has dismissed reports of any tussle between senior Ministers Pranab Mukherjee and P. Chidambaram on the 2G Scam issue. Dr. Singh was replying to a question from media on the Finance Ministry letter to the PMO on the allocation of the 2G spectrum. The Prime Minister who briefly interacted with the media on his way from Frankfurt to New York said that he does not interpret the issue as the clash between two Ministers.

Refusing to go further on the issue, the Prime Minister said since the matter is in court and subjudice, he would not like to comment on it. In reply to a question, Dr. Manmohan Singh asserted that P. Chidamabaram had enjoyed his confidence as Finance Minister and continue to inspire his confidence as Home Minister.
