Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the reported Dalit atrocity in Gujarat with senior party leaders last evening. The issue came up during BJP Parliamentary Party Executive meeting which was attended by BJP President Amit Shah among others. Talking to reporters outside Parliament, senior party leader and Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu said, he has talked to the state Chief Minister about the incident this morning. <br/><br/>He said prompt action has been taken by the state government against the people involved in it adding that the matter should not be politicized. Reportedly, some Dalit youths were thrashed on suspicion of skinning a cow. The issue was also raised in the Rajya Sabha by the BSP yesterday.
