The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh tody dedicated Pipavav Shipyard which has been set up on the Saurashtra coast of Gujarat to the nation. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, he said that India is destined to be a major trading nation of the world and ship building and management will enhance our trade. <br/>He said the development of Maritime infrastructure – ports, ship building and water transport have great importance to the progress of our country. <br/><br/>Dr. Singh said this sector will provide substantial employment in the organised sector and act as catalyst for rapid development of the hinterland as well. <br/><br/>The Shipping Minister Mr. G. K. Vasan said that government encouraging public-private partnership in this vital sector.
