PM dedicates Int'l Airport Chandigarh to people

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today dedicated the International Airport Chandigarh to people in a brief but impressive function. On this occasion, Chief Ministers of Punjab and Haryana and Union Ministers for Civil Aviation P Ashok Gajapathy Raju were present. <br/><br/>This airport, which is yet to be named, has been built on more than 300 acres land with a cost of 939 crore rupees. International flights are expected to start operation from the new civil air terminal from mid-October. Both Punjab and Haryana are partner states of this airport. <br/><br/>Later today, Prime Minister will confer degrees at PGI, Chandigarh and will also address a public rally where he will handover the keys of houses to allotees from economically weaker sections. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, ahead of Prime Minister's arrival at Chandigarh, some Congress leaders, pout to wave black flag to Mr. Modi , were detained by the police.
