Prime Minister today dedicated India's first International Container Transshipment Terminal, ICTT, at Vallarpadam in Kerala, to the nation. The first phase of the terminal, constructed at a cost 1600 crore rupees, has state of the art container handling facilities and a 600 meter quay length to accommodate large vessels. The ICTT will reduce the country's dependence on foreign ports for transshipment of containers.
