PM dedicates 5 million metric ton LNG terminal at Kochi to the nation

Prime Minsiter Dr. Manmohan Singh has called for united efforts by Asian countries towards a fair pricing mechanism for imported LNG in view of Asia being the driver of the global LNG demand.

Dedicating the 5 Million Metric Ton Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal to the nation at Kochi today, the Prime Minister pointed out that import of natural gas and its pricing constitute challenges that we must meet successfully.

He said the location of the terminal has been chosen so that it can provide the whole of South India with a cleaner and greener form of energy.
Dr. Manmohan Singh said the shipping industry too will benefit greatly from this terminal as more and more ships are mandated to use cleaner fuels like LNG.
