The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has spoken to Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh over his remarks about the Home Ministry. According to reports, Dr Singh said that it is not appreciated that any minister should comment on the functioning of other departments and ministries specially when they are on foreign soil. Mr Jairam Ramesh is reported to have been critical of the Home Ministry's approach towards Chinese companies.<br/>Replying to questions from the media on the issue, the Congress spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said that the PMO has already clarified the issue. Describing the remarks as inappropriate, Mr. Singhvi said that even within the country there should be no occasion for ministers to air differences about other ministries saying that there are enough forums in the party and the government to express views.<br/> <br/>The BJP has also condemned the reported statement of Environment Minister. Briefing reporters in New Delhi yesterday, Party Spokesman, Prakash Javdekar said that Minister's statement in the foreign land tarnishes the image of the government.<br/>
