Prime Minister Narendra Modi has convened a meeting in New Delhi today to discuss long-term measures to address the concerns of cash-starved sugar mills and expedite payment of cane arrear of over 14,000 crore rupees to farmers.<br/><br/>Food Ministry has proposed various short and long term measures to overcome the crisis and the Minister will be making a presentation on the sugar sector.
