Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held consultations with his key cabinet Ministers on overall situation in the country arising out of politically charged issues including One Rank One Pension (OROP) and quota protests in Gujarat. The meeting was attended by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari. Sources said that the issues like OROP, violent protests in Gujarat and the future of the contentious Land Ordinance set to lapse on 31st of this month were among those discussed.
