Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has expressed confidence that the UPA has the required strength in Parliament in case of voting on FDI issue. Dr. Singh was replying to a question as he emerged from the UPA Coordination Committee meeting held in the Parliament House complex this afternoon.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath said the UPA allies have assured that they are firmly behind the government on any discussion. Stating that the government is not averse to hold a discussion under any rule, Mr Nath said a large number of MPs are with the government and they are not insisting on voting. Mr. Nath said that he will convey this to the Lok Sabha Speaker to take a decision.
