Condemning the Varanasi bomb blast, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh said that it is an attempt to weaken India's resolve to fight the evil forces of terrorism. He said that these forces will not succeed. He also appealed to people to maintain calm and peace. He said that It is the most unfortunate incident and his heart goes out to those suffering families. Dr Singh said the government will provide succour to them. The vice president of India Mohd. Hamid Ansari has condemned the Varanasi blast as a heinous act to disturb peace.
