Prime Minister has expressed confidence of India's economy doing better this year and cross the growth rate of the predicted 6.5 percent. He was talking to reporters on the sidelines of Vice President's swearing-in ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhavan this morning. Dr.Manmohan Singh said the downgraded ratings of the country's economy by Moody is a matter of concern. But, Singh said, no one should draw unwarranted conclusions from it.
Asserting that the fundamentals of the Indian economy is sound, he said investments and savings remain the highest. The Prime Minister exuded confidence that this year government will do still better. Asked whether he would like Rahul Gandhi to join government, Dr.Singh said he would always welcome it.
