PM calls for upgradation of technology, human resource development in textile sector

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that upgradation of technology and human resource development is need of the time in textile sector to attract the young generation towards it. Addressing a function at Varanasi today after laying foundation stone of Trade Facilitation Centre and Crafts Museum, he said that to face the challenge from the world market change in the design, better quality and variety production are needed in the sector. He said measures should be taken that youths join the sector not with compulsion but with pride. He said that it can be done with assured income to them.
Mr. Modi said textile is biggest sector after agriculture in providing employment avenues with small capital. He said there is no division of master and worker in the sector as a very cordial atmosphere prevails at working places.

The Prime Minister said India carries a tradition in textiles and Varanasi has its special place. He said workers should be provided knowledge of modern technology and designs at their work place and equipments should be developed to meet the requirements of modern technology. He called upon the weavers to enhance the production of Benarasi Sarees to meet with the heavy demand across the country. Earlier welcoming the Prime Minister and other dignitaries Union Minister of State For Textiles Santosh Gangwar said that Trade Facilitation Centre and Crafts Museum spread over in 8 acres of land will be come with the investment of about 150 crore rupees. He said Government has announced to set up textiles cluster at 8 places in the country and about 50 crore rupees will be spend on each of them. He said in next five year plan 13 textile parks will be set up.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was welcomed by the State governor Ram Naik and the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav at Babatpur airport on his arrival. It is his first vist to his constituency after assuming power. Mr. Modi has also adopted Jayapur village under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana under Sewapuri assembly segment of his parliamentary constituency.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana aims to empower villagers and provide them with opportunities to exercise their choices. After adopting Jayapur village in his Lok Sabha constituency of Varanasi under the MPs' Model Development Scheme, he exhorted rural folk to give up the dependence on governments for solving their problems.

Addressing the villagers he said that he is confident that villagers have the ability to shape their own destiny through their own entrepreneurial skills and hard work. Large numbers of people were assembled at the ground several hours to listen their leader. They kept the mood upbeat through chants of slogans in praise of their leader.

Mr. Modi condemned the practice of female foeticide and said those who look upon the girl child as a liability should ponder as to how mankind will survive if we are left in a world with no women. He made a strong pitch for putting a stop on female foeticide. The PM won many hearts when he got up from his seat to adjust the mike for the village Pradhan Durga Devi.

Later, the Prime Minister left for the guest house of Diesel Locomotive Works where after having lunch and some rest he is scheduled to meet the general people at his public relations office in Ravindrapuri locality of the city.

Post lunch Prime Minister will be meeting general public at his Public Relation Office of his constituency and party workers at DLW guest house. Before concluding his first day schedules he will interact with prominent citizens and intellectuals of the city at a hotel. Prime Minister will wrap up his two day tour tomorrow visiting the Shree Maa Anand Mayi Ashram and hospital. Massive security arrangements are in place in the ancient temple town in view of PM's visit.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that 2,375 crore rupees assistance is being provided to revive 16 shut down district cooperative banks in eastern Uttar Pradesh. They were recently shut down after having become financially unmanageable. He said with the revival of these banks based in Deoria, Siddharthnagar, Sultanpur, Jaunpur, Sant Ravidas Nagar Bhadohi, Fatehpur, Hardoi, Basti, Ballia, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Sitapur, Allahabad, Faizabad and Varanasi financial activities will enhanced and small traders will be benefited.
