Prime Minister Narendra Modi today called for undertaking more medical research for providing better health care facilities to the people.

Addressing a convocation function of All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, he said, the country is way behind in the field of medical research and more needs to be done in this regard.

He stressed on focused research about case history of disease. The Prime Minister also called upon the medical students to continue their learning habits in the field, so that they keep themselves abreast with recent researches in medical sciences.

Mr Modi conferred life time achievement awards on six renowned specialists, including heart surgeon Dr P Venugopal.
