Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for speeding up rural electrification process to achieve hundred per cent electrification in the country in a time bound manner. <br/><br/>During a high level meeting in New Delhi yesterday evening, Prime Minister reviewed progress made in rural electrification and targets in power and coal sector. Reiterating his commitment to renewable energy, Mr. Modi stressed the need for accelerating the implementation of renewable energy projects. He also called for stern action against power theft.<br/><br/>Senior officials from the Ministries of Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy, NITI Aayog and PMO were present at the meeting.
