PM calls for improvement in governance to translate the vision of social democracy into practical possibility

Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has called for improvement in governance to translate the vision of social democracy into practical possibility. Speaking at an international conference on the occasion of birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi, Dr Singh urged social scientists to pave the way for developing economy like India which needs resources and revenues to be able to distribute them equitably. He said Indira Gandhi's call for growth with social justice defined the concept of social democracy in the country.
