PM calls for immediate resolution of boundary issue between India and China

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for immediate resolution of boundary issue between India and China, saying that clarity on the Line of Actual Control is essential for improving relations between the two countries.

Addressing media after holding talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in New Delhi on Thursday, Mr Modi said, he expressed concern over repeated incidents on the boundary.

He said, there should be peace in the relations and on the borders and if this happens, India and China can realize true potential of their relations.

Mr Modi said, he sought market access in China for Indian companies and also talked about trade imbalance. He said, both the leaders felt that the two countries can increase their economic relations.

The Prime Minister said, he has invited investment in infrastructure and manufacturing sectors. Mr. Modi said that he also discussed India's concerns relating to China's visa policy and trans-border rivers, saying their early resolution would strengthen the ties further.
