PM back home after succesful visit to Japan and Thailand

The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has returned to Delhi from Bangkok after a successful 5 day visit to Japan and Thailand.

During the visit Dr. Singh held detailed discussions with the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and his Thai counterpart Yingluck Shinawatra on a host of issues to further deepen and diversify cooperation.

In his discussions with the Japanese Prime Minister, the two countries decided to accelerate negotiations to conclude civil nuclear cooperation agreement .

Japan also pledged loan of over 353 billion US dollars for eight Rail Projects in India. This include 71 billion dollars loan for Mumbai Metro Line third Project.

The two leaders underlined the important role of India and Japan for a peaceful, stable, cooperative and prosperous future for Asia Pacific and Indian ocean region.
After delegation level talks with the Thai Prime Minister, the two countries signed seven agreements .

They include an extradition treaty providing a major boost to bilateral security cooperation and an MOU on cooperation in exchange of intelligence related to money laundering and terrorism financing.
