PM attends Allahabad HC's sesquicentennial celebrations closing ceremony

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is attending the closing ceremony of Allahabad High Court's sesquicentennial celebrations at Allahabad today. Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath received Mr Modi at Bamrauli airport in Allahabad.<br/><br/>Speaking at the closing ceremony of Allahabad High Court's sesquicentennial celebrations at Allahabad today, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi called for transparency in the judicial system. He said, pending cases in the State should be disposed off timely.<br/><br/>The Chief Minister said, those in need will be provided legal aid for timely justice in the State. Mr Adityanath said justice can be delivered only with the help of law. Addressing the function, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad called expediting judicial appointments in the country. He said government is committed for the independence of the judiciary. <br/><br/>This is the first visit of the Prime Minister to the city after BJP came to power in the state last month. The sesquicentennial celebrations were inaugurated in March, 2016 by President Pranab Mukherjee.
