Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured Bhutan of continued special treatment by India.
Speaking on the occasion of the banquet hosted in his honour by his Bhutanese counterpart Tshering Tobgay in Thimphu, Mr Modi said that the Government may have changed in Delhi but India will continue to build the relationship based on the shared historical and cultural values.
AIR Correspondent covering the Prime Minister`s visit reports that Mr Modi will address the Joint Sitting of the Parliament of Bhutan this morning.
Mr. Modi will also lay the Foundation Stone of the 600 MW Kholongchu Hydropower Project. Before his departure for New Delhi, a lunch is being hosted in his honour by the King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.
Mr. Modi arrived in capital Thimpu yesterday on a two day visit to Bhutan.
