Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi have called on Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and assured all possible help for the rain hit areas. Chief Minister has urged the center in a letter to send teams to assess the damage and grant assistance. He also requested the center to direct the concerned authorities to purchase cotton and paddy which were damaged due to rain.

Meanwhile, the north coastal districts continued to face rain fury while relief activities are underway in full swing.f
