The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has asked the police force to deal with terrorism, naxalism,regionalism and communalism with a great deal of efficiency, commitment and a sense of equity and fair play. <br/><br/>Addressing IPS probationers at his residence in New Delhi on Tuesday the Prime Minister said one must never forget that they are dealing with their own people. Reflecting that fundamentally the law and order situation in the country today was under strain,he said, all these four areas are of great concern and it has to be ensured that they are not allowed to harm the unity and integrity of the country. <br/><br/>Dr Singh said there was trouble in various parts of the country particularly in Central India and there were special problems in North Eastern states and Jammu and Kashmir. He said,all these areas require sustained attention if India is to retain a cohesive national identity.
