PM asks newly elected BJP MPs to prepare road-map of work; Two-day workshop for MPs underway at Surajkund in Haryana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today asked the newly elected BJP MPs to prepare a roadmap of work for their constituencies.

Inaugurating a two-day workshop of party’s newly elected MPs at Surajkund in Haryana, Mr. Modi urged them to develop a sense of mission towards their duties and select at least one subject for self-study for a deeper understanding of that subject.

Appealing to party MPs to eschew every kind of negativism, he emphasized that their approach to parliamentary party has to be that of mutuality and fellow feeling.

Talking to reporters, party Haryana in-chrage Jagdish Mukhi said that the Prime Minister also asked the MPs to prepare themselves properly before speaking in Parliament and also spend more time in their constituencies.

In his address, BJP President Rajnath Singh lauded the efforts of party’s training cell as well as parliamentary wing and expressed confidence that such efforts can help transforming this largest democracy of the world into the finest democracy.

Reminding the MPs of their responsibility towards their constituencies, he urged them to ensure an orderly and disciplined conduct in the house.

Talking to reporters, party leader and Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu said, the orientation programme is aimed at equipping the MPs with the knowledge of parliamentary procedures and tell them how to raise issues in Parliament. He said, the workshop would give them an outline about their responsibility besides the use of social media to highlight the government’s good work among the people.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Defence Minister Arun Jaitely and other senior party leaders will address the MPs. On the concluding day tomorrow, senior BJP leader, L K Advani will also address the participants at the workshop.

The orientation programme, which has been organised ahead of the first budget session of the new government at the Centre, also aims at grooming the newly elected members to become fine legislators.

Over 170 newly elected party MPs are participating in the orientation programme.
