Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the Home Minister Rajnath Singh to have a close look on the cyclone Hudhud, so that the relief and rescue operations proceed smoothly. He also instructed the Home Ministry to maintain close contact with the Chief Ministers of the states and coordinate with officers who are involved in relief operations.

The Home Ministry has also started 24×7 control rooms for cyclone assistance. The helpline numbers for Delhi are 011-23093563, 23093566 and for Odisha and Andhra Pradesh is 1948 and 1949.
