Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the agriculture scientists to work towards increasing crop productivity at fast pace without compromising on quality.

Addressing the foundation day celebration of Indian Council of Agricultural Research in New Delhi this morning, Mr Modi said, after green and white revolutions, the time has come now to reap the benefits of blue revolution by concentrating on it.

Mr Modi said, there is a great scope for the development of fisheries sector.

The Prime Minister said that the Agriculture colleges should have community radio stations to generate awareness about various crops for the benefit of the farmers.

He said farmers need to be empowered more in order to produce more and earn more.

The Prime Minister said, keeping in mind the changes in the weather cycle, scientific management of the water cycle has to be ensured to get better yield.
