The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh today arrived in Kabul on a two-day visit to Afghanistan during which he will discuss terrorism, regional development and ways to step up India's assistance to the war-torn country. Dr. Singh was received at the Kabul Airport by the Afghan Foreign Minister Zalmay Rasoul, Defence Minister Abdul Rahim Wardak and other senior officials. AIR Correspondent reports that Dr. Singh is visiting Afghanistan after six years. His first visit was in 2005. Earlier, New Delhi renewed its pledge for the reconstruction of the war-torn country. India's development assistance to that country is 1.5 billion US Dr. Manmohan Singh said, India cannot remain unaffected by developments in Afghanistan. He said, the quest of Afghan people for peace stability and reconciliation needs full support of all countries in the region and the international community.
