Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed for clear mandate in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party in order to ensure good governance and make Maharashtra free from corruption. He said that it would lead the state to the path of prosperity and sustainable development and also ensure welfare of the disadvantaged people including tribals.
He was addressing an election rally at Brahmapuri in Chandrapur today. Mr. Modi squarely blamed the erstwhile Congress and Nationalist Congress Party Government for looting the state during their 15-year rule and said that both the parties were responsible for the lack of irrigation facilities and plight of farmers due to a variety of factors including non-remunerative prices for farm produces including paddy in the region.
Mentioning that the BJP Government in the neighbouring Chhattisgarh state has taken several measures for all-round progress and betterment of the weaker sections of the society, Mr. Modi said, there is a golden chance for the people of Maharashtra to exercise the franchise during the ensuing elections and secure prosperous future for the state through the change in power.
He further said that no issue could be resolved through violence and urged the youth who have been misled into violent and detrimental activities, to shun violence and come back to the mainstream of the democratic society.
