Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has announced an additional quota of five hundred megawatt of electricity for the state of Jammu and Kashmir during the winter season. Chairing the high level meeting of Economic Reconstruction Agency on Wednesday evening in Srinagar, Prime Minister impressed upon the officers to accelerate the developmental process. Dr. Manmohan Singh sanctioned central finance assistance for modernising four thousand carpet looms. For overcoming the problem of unemployment in the state, Prime Minister said that 8000 seats in the ITIs in the country will be reserved for the students of Jammu and Kashmir. Dr. Manmohan Singh is scheduled to address CRPF jawans at recruitment centre, Humhama, Srinagar and interact with the media before leaving for New Delhi.
