The Prime Minister has made a fervent appeal to all sections of society to maintain peace and order after the delivery of the High Court judgment on the Ram Janmabhumi-Babri Majid title suit. The judgment is scheduled to be delivered on Thursday. Dr. Manmohan Singh said, there should be no attempt by anyone to provoke or indulge in any expression of emotion that would hurt the feelings of other people. He said that the judgment which is the outcome of a long judicial process needs to be treated with the utmost respect. He said that it has also to be borne in mind that the judgment, at this stage, is one step in the judicial process and there are legal remedies available in case any of the parties feel that further judicial consideration is required. He said that it is important for all to ensure that the highest traditions of Indian culture and respect for all religions are fully maintained. He said that nothing must be said or done that may cause the country to deviate from the goals and objectives of the country which is firmly on the path of inclusive growth. The UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi has also made a plea for maintaining peace and harmony and urged the people to accept the judgment of the Allahabad High Court in a spirit of magnanimity and India's great traditions. She said that emotional unity of the Indian society is India's greatest strength.
