Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that terrorism is taking a new shape and new name. No country, big or small, is free from its threat.
Addressing the United Nations General Assembly in New York in Hindi, the Prime Minister said that we should put aside our differences and mount a concerted effort to combat terrorism.
PM said that it is important to expand the UN Security Council. He urged the United Nations to adopt the Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism.
Mr. Modi said that raising issues in UN is not the way to make progress towards resolving issues between two countries.
The Prime Minister said that he is prepared to engage in a serious bilateral dialogue with Pakistan in a peaceful atmosphere, without the shadow of terrorism.
He added that we believe in multilateralism.
Mr. Modi said that it is a matter of great pride that he is addressing the UN General Assembly as the Prime Minister for the first time.
