In Jammu and Kashmir, contesting political parties have intensified their campaign for the fourth and penultimate phase of ongoing Assembly elections in the State. Addressing an election rally at Vijaypur in the border district of Samba today, Prime Minister Narender Modi said that huge turnout in the first two phases of elections in Jammu and Kashmir is the proof that people of the State have full faith in democracy and termed it as victory of ballot over bullet. He said that the governments which could not even meet the people’s expectations for the basic amenities of life, do not deserve to be in power. Criticizing previous governments in the State and Centre Mr Modi said that the concerns of the people of the State have never been given due attention. He cautioned the people that coalition governments in the State have never proved to be in the interest of the people and emphasised that a full majority government in the State is the need of hour.
He appealed people to vote for the development of the State and beware of the politicians who divide the society for their petty interests. Mr. Modi said that rehabilitation of migrants is the responsibility of the country and the issues of the refugees and migrants in the State need to be addressed at the earliest. Mr. Modi said that BJP led government in the Centre would never let the sacrifices of the security personnel go in vain and development and integrity of Jammu and Kashmir would remain its prime concern. Mr. Modi also paid tributes to the great martyr of Dogra Army and the Saviour of Kashmir, Brig. Rajinder Singh.
