Prime Minister Naredndra Modi on Saturday addressed the election rallies for the BJP candidates contesting the Assembly Elections in Beed and Aurngabad districts of Maharashtra also the bye election for one seat in Beed Loksabha constituency.

The Lok Sabha seat remains vacant after the demise of Union Rural Development Minster Gopinath Munde.

Mr. Modi in his speech attacked on the erstwhile ruling Congress-NCP combine in Maharashtra over corruption. Addressing his first election rally in the state at Beed, Mr. Modi said every young person in Maharashtra is under a huge burden of debt because of corruption.

Mr. Modi alleged that nobody benefited from the Congress-NCP government, which ended their15-year-old alliance just before the elections . The Prime Minister said he wanted to take Maharashtra ahead of Gujarat and put it at the top of all states, but for that he needed a government there.

Hitting back at Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who attacked his government over inflation and price rise earlier in the day, Mr. Modi said those who ruled for 60 years are demanding the account of what his government did in 60 days.Petrol and diesel prices are down. He promised that he will pull the country out of the current mess in 60 months.

The Prime minister made a mention of the substantial contibution of Maharashtra in the progress of the country. we will not afford to ignore this state, he said. The Government at the Centre is committed to further develop the state and take it much ahead of a progressive state like Gujarat, he assured.

Mr. Modi, in his 25-minute speech, did not even once refer to Shiv Sena, with which BJP parted ways over seat sharing.
