The Prime Minister has accepted the resignation of Minister of State for Home and Communications, Mr. Gurudas Kamat. Mr. Kamat was elevated as Minister of State with independent charge of Drinking Water and Sanitation Ministry in yesterday's cabinet reshuffle. He, however, refused to take charge and said that he would like to work for the party in Maharashtra. The PMO sources on Wednesday said in New Delhi that Mr. Kamat's resignation has been forwarded to the President Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil. Confirming this the Rashtrapati Bhavan sources said that they are shortly issuing a notification in this regard. 57-year-old Kamat is a five time MP from Mumbai.
