PLO urges intl community to intervene for lifting blockade of Gaza

The Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization has called upon the international community to intervene immediately for lifting of the complete blockade of Gaza Strip and the possible freedom of movement and individuals and goods. According to Palestinian official news agency WAFA, the Executive Committee in its meeting on Thursday affirmed its condemnation of Israeli settlement activities and demolition of Palestinian homes. The Executive Committee has also emphasized its commitment to international law, UN resolutions and the relevant Arab peace initiative to ensure the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem on the border of 1967. The Executive Committee confirmed the need to achieve Palestinian reconciliation immediately through the signing of the Egyptian document that Palestinian unity is the focal point to meet the challenges.
