Plea on bribes taken in judges' name sent to constitution bench

The Supreme Court today referred to a five-judge Constitution Bench a plea alleging that bribes were taken in the name of judges. <br/><br/>The court also issued notice to Centre and the CBI on the plea seeking setting up of SIT headed by ex-SC judge under its monitoring.<br/><br/>Hearing a matter relating to a CBI FIR into alleged bribes taken in the name of judges, the apex court asked CBI to keep in safe custody documents of an FIR in which an ex-Odisha High Court judge is also an accused. <br/><br/>It directed the CBI to produce these documents in sealed cover before Constitution Bench on the coming Monday.
