The use of plastic bags will be banned in Haridwar from next month. Shopkeepers using plastic bags will be fined between 500 and 1000 rupees.<br/><br/>Senior City Health ffier Shivender Singh said that pilgrims will also not be allowed to enter Haridwar with polythene bags. Haridwar Municipal Council has arranged for one lakh cloth bags which would be distributed among pilgrims with the help of local NGOs.<br/>
