Plantation drive launched in Bhalwal block of Jammu district under NAFCC Project

In Jammu & Kashmir, a plantation drive was yesterday launched by Agriculture Department in Bhalwal block of Jammu district under National Adaption Fund for Climate Change (NAFCC) Project. AIR correspondent reports that a massive plantation campaign was taken up wherein 2,000 saplings of mango and citrus plants are being planted in 11 Panchayats of Bhalwal block under the project.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The plantation drive was kick-started by Joint Director Agriculture Extension B.K. Chandan in the presence of farmers and PRI members at village Ranjan of Showa Panchayat by planting of Citrus plant. Pertinently, NAFCC Project was launched in 2016-2017 to cover 25 villages under 11 Panchayats of Block Bhalwal with the aim to lessen the adverse affects of climate change on farming.</span><br />
