The Planning Commission is setting up an expert group on facilitation of public private partnership in power distribution. It is to be headed by the Plan panel member B K Chaturvedi.Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia said the Board will have Chief and Power Secretaries of the states and representation from two financial institutions. It will be formed in 2 days.No time frame has been set for the group to submit its report. Some of states including West Bengal, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Orissa, Delhi and Gujarat have privatised power distribution.
