The process for preparing the Approach Paper for the 12th Five Year Plan began today with the launch of a website by the Planning Commission. Launching the Website in New Delhi, the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Mr Montek Singh Ahluwalia said this is for the first time, the Commission has decided that the Approach Paper will be evolved through a web-based consultative process. He said, the idea behind the process is to develop an inclusive and participative approach. Mr Ahluwalia said, he will also approach all the Chief Ministers to introduce the interactive system to get the views of the people. He said the Approach Paper for the Plan, 2012-17 is likely to be approved by the Union Cabinet in the mid next year. He expressed the hope that the draft of the full plan will be ready by March next year. Mr V. Narayanasamy, Minister of State for Planning, was also present on the occasion.
