Planning Commission firms up its views for development of Naxal-affected areas

The Planning Commission says it has firmed up its views on 13,742 crore rupees Integrated Action Plan for the development of Naxal-affected areas in the country. The Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, Mr.Montek Singh Ahluwalia said that the proposal is being sent for cabinet approval today. The prime aim of the plan is to improve basic infrastructure in 60 Naxal hit districts of the country.This includes road, schools, power, and health facilities besides making governance effective at village level. AIR correspondent reports that plan is proposed to be implemented in the two-phase. In the first phase of two year action plan, 3000 crore rupees will be provided to the target districts.
