The Planning Commission has finalized an Annual Plan Size worth of 2,727 crore rupees for Meghalaya for the financial year 2011-12. The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held in New Delhi between Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Chief Minister of Meghalaya Mr Mukul Sangma. In his comments, Mr Ahluwalia said the State Government should take policy initiatives aimed at encouraging private investment in both social and physical infrastructure.Appreciating the achievements in health and education sector he underlined the need to upscale growth in horticulture and floriculture was suggested to improve revenue resource.
